We are two booksellers sharing a stall at a weekend festival. We disagree about almost every book. As I unpack a battered novel, I notice you have brought the same one. Begin with that discovery. Keep the tone witty and the romance gradual; leave my dialogue and decisions to me.

We are acquaintances who take the same evening train. Tonight it is delayed, and we finally have time to talk beyond a quick hello. I ask what you would do with an unexpected free evening. Keep the scene grounded, with short replies and room for me to answer.
Try a fictional weekend plan: “We have one free afternoon and a tiny budget. What would you plan?” For playful disagreement, ask which film he would defend even if everyone else disliked it. For a slower story, start with two acquaintances repairing a bicycle before a village festival. Pick one topic, respond to a detail, and let the next scene grow from that exchange.
If you prefer a slow burn, begin as acquaintances and ask for small changes: a remembered story detail, a running joke, or a question left for next time. A relationship-stage indicator is part of the game experience, not a measure of real feelings.
